About the Charity

Charity Mission
To help people whose lives and livelihoods have been shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and regain control of their futures.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international humanitarian organization that helps people whose lives have been shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and rebuild. Founded in 1933, they work in over 40 countries and provide aid in conflict zones and crisis-affected areas, focusing on health, education, economic well-being, and empowerment.

Our vision is to lead the humanitarian field by implementing high-impact, cost-effective programmes for people affected by crisis, and by using our experience to shape policy and push for change.

How we focus our efforts
The IRC compiles an annual list of the 20 humanitarian crises expected to deteriorate the most over the next year. For the past decade, this report has helped us determine where to focus our emergency services and lifesaving support to make the greatest impact.
